Fall In Love
And we’re back at the West Overton Distillery and Farms located in Scottdale, Pennsylvania!
Jason and Kylie were married on a warm Sunday afternoon in October. The high school sweethearts dreamed of this day to be beautiful and fun!!!!! They were so great to work with. Their colorful wedding matched their personalities! They are both outgoing and adventurous and at the same time laid back. They wanted to have their wedding day be fun, relaxing and memorable not just for them but for their guests too! From ceremony to the dance floor, I think their goal was met! The indoor/outdoor setting of West Overton was a perfect location to make this happen!
Guests anticipated the colorful celebration with an elegant invitation suite. A burnt orange envelope with white ink calligraphy arrived and once opened revealed a liner of orange, red and yellow leaf outlines. The cream colored invitation card was backed with the same burnt orange as the envelopes and featured classic typography and subtle fall colored embellishments. A response card and enveloped matched the suite perfectly.
The design direction for the entire wedding began with a tree centerpiece composed of leaves, twigs, and colorful roses. The main vision was to create an atmosphere full of fall color and decor. The color scheme was vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow with plum accents. A mixture of gourds and pumpkins orange, white, green and striped! Cornstalks, hay bails, and anything fall made the list!
It was a beautiful autumn day for a wedding. The perfect backdrop for the outdoor ceremony, trees dripping with fall leaves full of color! Pumpkins and gourds line the aisle mixed with red and peach roses. The lovely couple exchanged vows under an archway adorned with colorful sunflowers, red roses, orange mums and fabric blowing in the wind! We knew we had to have his metal archway when we came acrossed it at Artistry in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District. That scalloped top was just too pretty to pass by! Hay bails decorated with fall accents and two larger flower centerpieces balanced the base of the archway. The wedding party looked amazing as each couple represented a color from the design scheme.
After the couple got hitched guest enjoyed hors d’ouvers and cocktails. The reception setting was a historic four-story barn draped in glistening lights strung up in a ceiling that looked endless. The barn was full of color and light. Tall tree centerpieces mixed with pumpkins stuffed with flowers decorated the tables. A mix of candles adorned every table and wooden beam in the space adding to the sparkle.
Guests found their seats within the “Friends and Family Tree”! Their names were written on paper leaves and placed together within a framed branches made of twine.
Outside of the barn we created a seating area with furniture and hay bails covered with blankets and pillows. Richly colored mums, pumpkins, roses, and candles and strung bulbs made the space feel more inviting. It was a perfect spot for group photos too!
Guest we’re blown away with the dessert options. The treat buffet was one of the largest we’ve created. A “Fall in Love” banner added height to the table. Flower centerpieces and candles added to its allure. Full of candies, chocolates, cookies, and pies! Hot cocoa, coffee, and hot apple cider were served to wash it all down. Plates and jars filled to the brim. The catering staff refilled platters of cookies all night and they still had leftovers! Pennsylvania weddings don’t mess around when it comes to the desserts!
After a few drinks and a gigantic sugar rush, the dance floor was full and the tables were empty. Guests had great time with the DJ who sang and danced with the crowd!! Drinking, dancing, and laughter echoed throughout the barn until after midnight. Who would have thought it was Sunday night!
